OLTREPO’ PAVESE BUTTAFUOCO “FAJRO” D.O.C.
Red wine, still, dry, aged in large barrels. It’s a ruby red color. It has an intense bouquet with spicy notes and hints of jam and berries. The palate is full-bodied with great structure and persistence.
In the heart of Montespinato cru born this fruity wine thanks to the harmonious meeting of those grapes that best represent our territory: Croatina, Barbera and rare grapes.
Aged for a year in oak barrels, this wine is meant for long aging.
OUR SOMMELIER SAYS
“This wine, as well as all austere, concentrated and thick ones, it needs the right attitude to be fully appreciated: when poured into the glass, you must have the patience to ‘wait’ so that it can unleash its full force, first smell and then taste.. you’ll be repay by that because it’s very special.
The manufacturer Cà del Ge had the strength to believe in this kind of wine and to get an excellent result. Definitely stews and braised meats are the ideal companions (especially lamb), but also game dishes, a good pork cheeks or shin baked enhance it to know better.”
